Akbar Children’s Specialized Hospital with 250 beds admits patients who need various specialized health services of internal pediatrics care, and diseases which require surgery. The sub special departments of surgery are one of our unique and specialized fields, and all surgical services like admission, laboratory, imaging processes, surgeries required operating room and discharging are done in this center.

Important clinical procedures are provided to give services to patients in the form of growth and development departments, multi-potential clinics such as Autism clinics, CF clinics, sexual dysfunction clinics, and celiac diseases in which specialized teams of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, child psychologist, endocrinologist, pediatric gastrointestinal and other professionals are working together.
One of the other special services that is done not only Akbar Hospital level, but also in the province and country is the diagnostic procedure and treatment of cleft lip and palate, from the initial stages of implanting plague in the roof of the mouth and protective measures, up to the patient’s readiness for surgery.
Other subspecialty departments include infectious diseases, gastrointestinology, endocrine and metabolic diseases, rheumatology, diseases of the lungs and respiratory system, having hoteling and care services to patients with 180 beds, are provided.
The center also has 40 neonatal and pediatric intensive care beds to deliver health care services to patients.
One of the very special and unique services that is performed in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and Khorasan Razavi Province in our operating room site is bronchoscopy procedures, which are performed with both rigid and flexible devices and patients receive the necessary service after diagnoses in specialized lung services.
If there is a need for pathological processes during surgery, such as freezing procedures and evaluation of malignant tissues, it is possible to be performed simultaneously.
The hospital has 7 operating rooms and 6 active operating rooms with all equipment and endovision tools such as laparoscopy, arthroscopy, and neurosurgery microscopes. At present, neurosurgical diseases, orthopedic diseases, urological (the urinary tract and kidney) disorders, dentistry procedures, and pediatric subspecialty surgeries in the field of general surgery are performed in the center and all are provided full services.
Another unique part is the center of endoscopy, colonoscopy, duodenoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy units, which are equipped with up-to-date devices.
In case of need for endoscopic services such as stenting, treatment of esophageal varices, removal of lumps and polyps, and other procedures such as argon it can be completely done independently from the operating room unit having two procedure beds and two recovery beds.
Specialized imaging services such as fluoroscopic diagnostic radiology and CT scan are performed in this center with the most up-to-date ices. All laboratory and clinical pathology procedures are available with up-to-date equipment such as HPLC method, and metabolic disorders identification method, for outpatients and inpatients.
